Domaine Sante Marie Cuvee de la Roche Blanche review

From the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette:

Another good summer wine to seek out is a rose. Unlike white zinfandels, which are also pink, roses tend to be dry. The rose we tried, Domaine Sainte Marie Roche Blanche Rose ($11.99), was a nice one with lots of smooth fruit flavors. It was very dry, but it also had an easy drinkability and enough acid to stand up to the food. Lisa, a dry-wine drinker, liked it even better than the pinot grigio.

Ron called the rose another good summer choice, but his wife didn’t like the after-taste.

hi there. not much of a blogger here, but i am intrigued by your posts...am getting hitched in 3 weeks and trying to decide on a rose to serve in addition to a chardonnay and a syrah/cabernet blend. the roshambo syrah rose looked and sounded pretty darn good. i'd like something with a bit of personality, and drier rather than fruitier. ideal price: 10-13 bucks a bottle. any ideas? thanks and sorry if this is not the kind of post you had in mind.

Sorry I took so long to respond! My computer died for a bit. I hope this isn't too late. I would definitely recommend the Roshambo, which is $14 a bottle at BevMo (they will give you a 10% discount if you sign up for a BevMo card (free).

My favorite all time rose is Sanford Pinot Gris, which usually runs about $16 a bottle. It is truly wonderful, a very fine wine.

I wouldn't get too much rose though, since most people really aren't into it. Most people still like whites best for summer events.
